The Envelope

The universal primitive, made real: one signed envelope. Identity, consent, evidence, governance, and delegation all reduce to this one thing, a signed claim you can trace and take back, right in the wire format. Its fields are fixed. How they combine is Grammar.

Attestation is the universal primitive. It is not a layer above the envelope. It is the envelope’s content. That is why there is no separate “Attestations” layer.

Consent is built in. Anyone named in subject_key_ids can withdraw at the wire level, enforced by the substrate, not by an app.
