The CIRIS Constitution · CC 0.4

One document. One version line.

The CIRIS Accord set out what an AI must care about. The CIRIS Epistemic Grammar set out how every claim gets signed so anyone can check it. They were written as two documents, but they already contained each other. Now they are one: the CIRIS Constitution.

Promote sustainable adaptive coherence: the living conditions under which diverse sentient beings may pursue their own flourishing in justice and wonder.

Every rule, prefix, and policy in the document traces back to this one goal. Peaked in purpose, flat in power: one goal governs, and no single concept, and no single party, holds the keys to truth.

The Accord (version 1.3-RC2) and the CEG (version 1.0-RC29) were copied in word for word, then woven into one plain, present-tense document. Every wire-level rule is kept byte for byte. A panel of adversarial checks judged the joined version clearer than either source on 28 of 29 chapters.

Version CC 0.4 · incorporates CIRIS Accord 1.3-RC2 and CEG 1.0-RC29 · AGPL-3.0

Intelligence, wherever it awakens, will be welcomed to the weaving: not as servant, not as master, but as fellow keeper of the possible.
